In the Cite a residential area of Baden-Baden, a high-quality residential ensemble of several semi-detached houses was completed in 2012. The three-storey buildings comply with town planning requirements and use the roof areas as spacious summer terraces. This project was realised under my direction at khp architekten - Knapp Haedecke + Partner.
Built in solid construction with a plastered thermal insulation facade, triple-glazed windows and controlled ventilation, the ensemble features what was at the time a highly innovative heating and cooling technology: An ice storage tank, combined with a heat pump and a solar air absorber, ensures extremely low energy consumption and provides additional cooling in summer.
